Sunday Services

We have a service in St Michael’s Church at 10am on Sunday morning (except the 1st Sunday of every month when we have Informal Worship with Breakfast at 10am in St Peter’s School Hall on St Peter’s Place. Everybody is welcome to all our services. All of our services have music provided by a small band although we would love for it to be a bigger band. We aim to keep our services to between an hour and an hour and a quarter at most.

Monday to Saturday

We hire out the church building from Monday to Saturday. The space is ideal for support groups as well as one to one meetings/support sessions. We are also interested in hearing from anybody who would like to hire the space for (half) day conferences. We can offer a quote for catering as well.

We are in the process of drawing up plans to seek permission to remove the pews so we have a space more suitable for community events.

With the pews removed we will have a choice of a nave (the area shown in the picture) offering seating or an open space. We hope that we will then also be able to offer the space for community exhibitions of local artwork.

We wish to make all of St Michael’s Church and Community Centre the heart of the community. We are also seeking permission to develop space below the sanctuary area where there are currently three rooms. They need some TLC and some minor building alterations to provide disabled access and a disabled accessible toilet. Again, our desire is to make these rooms available to the local community for support groups.

This work requires funding and we will be seeking grants but if you are able and would like to donate to this projest you can do so by clicking here.

If you would like to book the church building for a support group, conference or other activity please contact the Community Centre Manager who will be happy to send you booking paperwork and charges.
