Sunday 24th May – Second Sunday of Easter

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our services tomorrow. For information about what being an inclusive church is please see below.

“We believe in inclusive church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate.

We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality.

We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”

Holy Week and Easter Sunday Services

Everybody is very welcome to attend any of our services over the next few days. This evening (Wednesday 13th April) we have a service of meditation using Taize chants. This is at St Michael’s Church and starts at 7pm.

Please see the poster below for information about other services and events. For those seeking a lighter way to mark Easter please note we are showing ‘The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe’ on Friday at 3pm in St Michael’s Community Centre, Bemerton Heath. We will be serving hot cross buns and tea/coffee/squash.

Then on Easter Sunday we will gather outside St Michael’s Church for the lighting of the fire and the lighting of the Easter Candle. There will then be an opportunity for children to hunt the grounds for 8 egg signs that will have a bible verse on them. Make a note of all 8 verses and come back to receive a gift.

Come and hear the story and then take part in some craft activities that help us to consider how we can stand up for justice in our society. This will be for around 60 – 90 minutes.
